Here is a friendly reminder to take it easy on yourself. How might you do that? Here are a few ways:
- Forgive yourself for your mistakes – as humans, we make mistakes. Some mistakes carry heavier consequences than others, but the key is to learn and move on. Look at yourself with compassion, knowing that you have no intention of making the same mistake again. If you are having trouble turning away from bad choices, seek professional help to get you unstuck so you can live victoriously.
- Replace negative self talk – it’s so easy to slip into phrases where you are picking yourself apart or focusing on your negative qualities. Pay attention to how you talk about yourself for the next seven days and stop yourself if you find something negative coming out of your mouth. Replace it with something positive like, “I used to ___/mess that up, but I am honest now/I am faithful now/I work hard now/I am turning that around now,” for a few examples.
- Take a Fun Break – let’s make sure you are taking care of yourself, starting with making time for fun. What do you really enjoy? Make some time for it this week, even if you end up doing it alone.
